Need some help with FMOD

I've been readng up on FMOD and it looks pretty simple, but some of it is a bit unclear to me. Mostly, loading sounds are a mystery to me. The FSOUND_Sample_Load is a what I need to clarify. For my sound class, I need to be able to load files to memory so that I don't have to load them when I need them. But for some of the sounds rarely used, I need to be able to load and play them right away. Also, when I load sounds to memory, I don't want them to take up a playing channel which I assume do not. So basically, I just need to know how to load sounds properly. Thanks Jake
