Tutorials/Literatur on how to avoid bad code design

Hello there I'm looking for literature/tutorials on common programming mistakes and how to avoid them, for things such like Buffer Overflow and Memory Management, security etc. , getting a good coding style for C++. Do you have any recommendations??? Thanks in advance

I don't know of any online resources, but I can recommend Code Complete 2nd Edition.
