DevIl and Image Origins

I was just wondering if some one knows a reliable way of getting the origin attribute of an already loaded Il image. I know that there are a IL_IMAGE_ORIGIN attribute but have not been able to do some usefull with it. I know I can set DevIl to convert on load with ilOriginFunc and retrive the settings for the origin func with ilGetInteger(IL_ORIGIN_MODE), but I was hoping to use ilGetInteger(IL_IMAGE_ORIGIN) instead of forcing flipping of images since the actual loading of images in devil may be outside my control. I've tried to find out for some time but to no avail. Googling for it doesn't seem to help either. (unless you wanna read about the origin of the devil that is). Is it broken (il_image_origin)?
