What is the method used to splat a blood texture onto an object in a game? Can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to do this. I would google for it , but I dont know what it's called.

As the above link doesn't seem to provide any example code, I'll post a link to the site I'm gonna try and learn from when I stop being so thick :).

Oh, and I'm not sure about engines like Source or Doom3 (or Tenebrae/Tenebrae 2 for that matter). The quality on the blood sprays are much higher than previously shown. You can get the source code for Tenebrae if you want take a closer look (http://tenebrae.sourceforge.net/).

Again, hope this helps!

They still use decals, but with much better texturing and projection (so a blood splat in a corner will go along both walls and the ceiling/floor).
