You may need some custom DLL or resource files that your game uses to be sent as well as the exe.

We developed a game a little over a year ago and when I wrote the install program we had trouble playing the game without all the art work and movies files and dlls we had created being installed with the exe

Visual Studio brings a nice tool, Dependency Viewer (or depends.exe).
Start it and open your exe with it. It will list all DLLs which are needed by your exe. Most of them will be available on every PC, but some aren't.

If it's a missing DLL the dialog on your friends PC should actually be telling DLL xxx is missing.

What system are you using? Win32? MFC? .NET (as in C#)?

Hi there,

I not sure which dll, just it says microsoft visual c++ runtime library error..abnormal temination...press ok.My friend is using win xp professional edition sp2 installed. My program is a WIN32 program. Not MFC.I actually tried writing another program in MFC,and it works fine without anything needed.I suspect was the DLL in the WIN32 needed to run.Hopefully you could give me another advice, after telling the configurations.

WinXP sp2
Win32 program.

Commy
