ODE and my quadtree

I've got all my game objects stored in a quadtree, and now I want to hand over those objects to ODE to do physics with. The problem is ODE is going to be moving them around and stuff without me knowing, so they're not going to stay in the same place in the quadtree. I could poll each object for its position each frame and update the quadtree that way, but that seems really really inefficient. I see that ODE has its own "spaces" system, with an option for quadtree spaces. Should I just hand over all the objects to ODE? How would I do stuff like frustum culling if I did that? Any advice?
