well. i've never been much of a musician.. but it's pretty easy to wave your finger around to the pitch of a song. however, i couldn't quite get my computer to read my finger height, so i decided using an image would be a better idea. different colours represent different instruments, and their height represents the frequency. i just started, and it uses old midi sounds.. so it really sounds terrible. but if there's some interest, i *might* just continue. has this been done before?

Yeah, quite a few editors use that kind of setup. It's got some name I can't remember.
