OpenGL Gl variables, should i use them?

Hi, Just a quick question about opengl variables. I am using C on winxp and will most likely use the win32 api for windows stuff. Is there any reason to use opengl's variables or should i just use normals ints and floats ect :) Thanks

if I was you I'd stick with OpenGL's variable types, it will make your code more portatable (for example a GLunit might well be an unsigned int now, however on a 64bit machine an int could be bigger, thus GLunit might be typedef'd to a 32bit value on that machine, thus your useage of 'int' could break things)
