i want to create shadows like the blob shadows in some games. i have the shadowtexture and have to map it on the surface under the object. how do i map it on the next surface under the object? the object is a vehicle and the place to map the texture is the landscape. i have to scale the shadow, if the vehicle does jumps. thanks

You can project the texture. Use eye space projection so everything below the character receives the shadow. You can use multitexturing and TexGen for this.

The other way is to project a quad onto the surface below. The quad having the shadow texture on it. I think most old games did this and didn't even bother to reshape the quad when the shadow was on the edge of an object.
