I have a PArray object from 3d studio which I have exported to an X File. However, this PArray (particle system) doesn't show up in the mesh viewer. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help you can give. [Edited by - LilTrooper on June 12, 2005 8:12:52 PM]

I don't think that the mesh viewer supports reading in particle data from 3dsmax and rendering them. All the mesh viewer does is read in mesh and animation data from the .x file and render that. If you want to render particles from a .x file (which I'm not sure how MAX exported particles ect) then you're are going to have to write code for yourself to read in the data and interpret it, unless of course you can find something on the net.

Thank you for your help darkzim...yeah, I've had this problem before with a particle system when I was making a smoke effect and I have no idea how to get this into DirectX. Well if anyone knows of some free software I can use to read the X file, and perhaps a good way of exporting the particle system out of 3d Studio, I would appreciate it a bunch.

Thanks.
