Program test

Because I've been unable to get my ATI drivers working, I have been unable to test my latest addition to Daedalus: GLSL support. Would anyone with a videocard and driver combination that supports GL_ARB_fragment_shader please test my program? I also suspect that you need X.Org, but I'm not experienced enough with linux to be able to say that for sure. Any help would be welcome. Edit: if the program works correctly it should only show you a funky colored logo. If you're into GLSL you can edit the two shader files for different effects. Doesn't work for me. I can see a 'Error: Couldn't get double buffer' error when I check the log. However, the windows version works perfectly in cedega, assuming the only thing it does is showing the logo.

I get the following error when running it:


./glsllinux.x: error while loading shared libraries: ./glsllinux.x: undefined symbol: glXGetProcAddress


It seems that on my system the function is called glXGetProcAddressARB. However I'd be interested to know why you are even calling glXGetProcAddress - why not just call the function straight off the bat, assuming it's a core function?

Thank you both for testing.

Baldurk: the GLSL functions are not yet part of the core as far as I know (they do belong to the 2.0 specs, but you still need to get the pointers through GetProcAddress). I've seen something about the difference between glXGetProcAddress and glXGetProcAddressARB on a forum somewhere. You wouldn't have an NVidia card by any chance would you? I'll see if I can fix that issue.

Perost: thanks for log. I've never encountered problems with that before. I'll do some investigating this week. Is it okay if I contact you privately with other test versions?

On gentoo-amd64 2005.0 with a geforce 6800gt (nvidia drivers 7664)
I'm still setting this system up so I could be missing some librarys (like the emul-linux-x86-nvidia, which portage doesn't yet have a version to match my drivers)
But glxgears works, and my simple SDL/Opengl base code (which I just ported) works.

I get

I found a problem with my system setup which caused the difference between glxinfo on 64bit and the 32bit chroot. The 32bit is now the same as the 64bit.
