I have a new project and I need to learn vb.net. I am a basic VB 6 user and strong in c++ and sql so I don't need an absolute beginner level, but a refresher of vb syntax would be good as well. The project also involves a database on SQL Server which I have never used. Any suggested books on either or both topics? There are just too many books out there to know a good one. Thanks,

if you already know c++, why don't you use it? C++ is faster, especially for database programming.

In my case, development time - between the editor and being less prone to bugs, it takes me a lot less time to develop in VB. If performance is absolutely mandatory, then I fall back to C++, but it's been a long time since I've needed it.
