Direct Draw problems....

I dotn get it.. I load a bmp file to a sirface using the ddutils.cpp functions, then I blit it to the backbuffer. THen i do a flip to the primary surface. Thats great right. THen I set a variable, an integer, to a 1, and the screen goes black and the border of the window in which the app is running comes back. ( although its running in fullscreen room. this sucks what am I doing wrong?? to Code, or Not To Code Edited by - cxi2 on 11/24/00 3:27:19 PM

ok well now this is interesting...

I switched the directx display from 1024X768X16 to 800x600x16 and now that stopped happening....

whats the deal? any ideas?

I think a similar thing might be happening to me also. I blit a bitmap to the backbuffer, flip it and wait for user input. The bitmap stays visible for less than a second and then the screen goes black. I thought it might be related to the vsync but looking in that direction has given me nothing. Let me know if you find anything and I''ll do the same.
