Ok I am trying to do nehes tutorial on height mapping. But does it not draw at 0,0? Becuase I can't get the map in view unless I look at the place in nehe tutorial and scale it by that factor. Why is this? Should it not draw at 0,0? And what color is 0 height white or black? I just don't know why I can't get it to go in view. Can anyone please help. vbuser

Whydon't you make you're own? It's relatively easy and you'll get more control on what you wanna do. just treat each pixel has a vertices, then, order them in
a good order for vertex array, for example. Then change the height of each pixel relativety to is pixel color. Hope this help.

0 is black. And I haven't had much in the way of problems with basic height map stuff like that (and I'm still so very noob). I'm sure the reason for it being out of view is in the tutorial on NeHe's site.

I am so stupid! I forgot that nehe used the color depending on the height. So that I would look at 0,0 but since it was so low it was fully black! I just found that out I need to add in real lighting lol. I'm not really using nehes code I made my own height class and used it to figure out how to do height maps but I think I am going to change it to trianlges instead of quads.]
Thanks for the help.
