I was wondering if there was a tool that I could use to generate texture coordinates. Example suppose I have a 128*128 image. it has 4 rows and 4 colums of textures. I tell the tool to generate texture coordinates for each quad and save it to a file. I am asking because I dont want to reinvent the wheel. thanks in advance

Well normally speaking the textures would go from 0-0.25, 0.25-0.5, 0.5-0.75, 0.75-1.0 on each axis. Can't see why you need a special tool to handle that. Of course if you figure in bilinear filtering you probably want to move each coordinate inwards half a pixel (1/256) so you don't get one texture filtering in to another one. If mipmapping's involved then it gets messy because you can't totally stop them being blended into each other (1/256 in a smaller texture is less than 1/2 a pixel). nVidia have a paper on "texture atlasing" in which they claim the artifacts this produces are small. You may be able to get away with it on untiled textures, but I thought on the demo that when they tiled the textures (using pixel shaders) that the edges of each tile pretty obviously had the next door textures colour bleeding in.
