Input (KB/Mouse) API ?

I've got a question for you guys: Which API are you using to capture input in your game? Win32, DirectX, SDL, etc? I'm trying to find a cross platform API for input handling.. A little background: I've worked with DirectInput, and I could not seem to get SDL input to work unless the main game loop was SDL as well. I've got a win32 project, and I am trying to simply drop in some handler code...
