I just want to use direct show to do my cutscenes, I''m wondering if it''ll do anything nasty if I show an avi while I''ve got d3d active as well. (this is all dx8 BTW). thanks, Frank

It should work together , but you may want to consider simply rendering your AVI/mpeg/whatever clips to a surface so that you don''t even need to bother w/directshow

Do you mean using media streaming? What functions would you need to use to render avi/mpeg files to the primary surface?

Dave
