D3D8 second monitor output: device lost when activating another app

The application needs to have a control window in the main monitor and a fullscreen DirectX output window on the second monitor (work with dual screen card). Basically, you control the app with one monitor, and display the ouput with the other one. It's working fine at the start: the display is outputed in the secondary monitor (fullscreen mode). It can be controlled with the control and the player windows. FINE! BUT, when I click on another application, the output window goes minimized and, of course, the display stop! This is a easy to reproduce problem and it seems to appears on all graphic cards. I've made some tests, for example, by creating a topmost window with CreateWindowEX, but nothing works! Any suggestions are welcome! -- Regards, Jean-Baptiste How to test this? You must have a graphic card supporting two monitor output and the secondary monitor activated.
