I ve just started off with direct draw , i am facing serious problems with debugging , as the application goes into full screen , stepping into/over is not helping , as a result a buggy application directly crashes. I am using vc++ 6.0 , and i have installed Dx-Sdk -9. I belive that there is a built in debugger with the sdk , the icon for which should appear in the control panel but its not showing up at all. I have installed the Debug runtime directx , also tried re-installing the entire thing , but no luck. Any suggestions as to debug directdraw apps are welcome. Thanks

I would recommend adding windowed mode support to your app, or buying a second monitor. Windowed mode is cheaper.

No. Well, not really - the SDK includes extensions for Visual Studio .NET debugger that allow you to debug shaders and view surfaces and stuff. Not an actual debugger though.
