I was just wondering about your opinions on the GDmag. I'd like to order a subscription, but I have to pay off my credit card debt first (thank God I daved up 5000 bucks just incase of an emergency. My debt is only $863 :) )

GDmag is well worth checking out.

See if your area Barnes & Noble or Borders bookstores carry it. Buy an issue off the shelf, and inside there should be a card for a free subscription.

I actually looked at one for the first time last week when I was in Chapters. It was amazinly thin and plagued with ads and really no good information at all.

I dunno if it's just this month's magazine or not.. but I'll never look at it again. It seemed like 50 pages of ads that you pay a premium for.

I like it so far :) But you are right, there are quite a few ads in there, but atleast they are helpful ads. I don't have a barnes and noble where I live, but there is one a few miles from here, I never thought to look there. That's where I get most of my Game development/programming books from.

It is OK, mostly because it is free. It used to be really great. I have been a subscriber for about 5 years now. About a year or so ago they "modernized" the format, swapped staff out, and really crapped up the whole thing in my opinion. Print is too small now, articles aren't as relevant as they used to be, a LOT more adds, art design looks like a bad Andy Warhol( spelling? )peice.

It sure isn't what it used to be.
