Managed DirectX redist problem

Hi! I'm new to gamedev.net and Managed DirectX. Sorry if I ask about obvious stuff! My problem is that most people that try to run the Release version of my prototype get unhandled exceptions which seem to relate to DirectX versions. http://www.endogine.com/CS/ I see posts on the web that imply that Managed DirectX is not backwards compatible, eg June 2005 isn't compatible with March 2005. Can this really be correct!? And for end users, it's really confusing that they can have "the latest DirectX version" (9.0c) but still miss a lot of .dlls. So it's not enough anymore to tell users to download the latest DX redist - I have to provide my own DX installer to make sure they have what's needed..?

They need to have the exact version you've built against. If you've built against the June assemblies, they'll need to have them.
