I have Photoshop 7.0.1 and I tried to add a alpha channel to my tga file which I want to be a texture, but the background keeps showing up as white. Tell me if I'm missing something, because I've tried so many tutorials and none work for me. I'm using the tga loader from nehe so that should be working. I don't know the problem. Please help. Do you have the correct blending mode enabled in OpenGL?
The TGA exporter in Photoshop 7.0 is broken.

Get the fix here.

I struggled with that for a while as well.
Hmm, looks like that fix comes standard with 7.0.1. I have no ideas then.
Flying Demon, I checked out blending modes and I got it! Thanks for the help. I thought it was my image the whole time.

This is how you do it..
Open the TGA duplicated the background layer, then delete it.
select white, delete it. You'll get the nice checkered pattern.
Then Click This (the thing in red), Edit In Quick Mask Mode, then Save, make sure save alpha channels are checked.

And the TGA exported is not broken at least not when I use it.
