Water Effect and 16bit ddraw surface

Does anyone have code to do a water effect on a ddraw 16bit surface,, I have some of the examples I found on the web but most use c + asm and some pascal,,,, does anyone have code that uses ddraw also to draw the effect.. Thanks in advance
