Distinguished forum members, I'd like to create a simple 3D fighting game, like the Virtua Fighter or the Tekken series. Now, I'm wondering what the best model format for the characters would be. In my opinion, something like MD2 models would be to limited when it comes to animating them. And good animation is a key factor. Since have some 3D Max experience, I was thinking of creating a biped model and export it in some way. I'll probably end up using my own format, but until then it would be helpful to use an existing one, just to get the basics up and running. Any ideas on this subject?

MD2 is a good choice, but you can try the Cal3D, is a OpenSource character system...
