I have an object stored in a .pro file that I can see fine in ProEdit. I can change all the rendering methods and everything comes out as I would expect. However when I load it into my program it is completely black. Most of the render methods come up black and others come up all white or translucent. None of them look like they do in ProEdit. I load the object just like the others in my scene which work perfectly, the only difference is that this object does not use textures, it is just a color. What is it that ProEdit does to render a non-textured object that I am not doing in my program?

Proedit has a lights already placed so that you can see Rendering methods which require lights. Just add some lights to your scene and your object should show up ..
