does anyone know where i can find some free 3d models of plants and trees (maybe low poly) ?
try www.3dcafe.com. getting low poly models of trees and plants will be difficult. You may get a lot of alpha textures of plants and trees. I suggest you can map those textures on to a polygon and use it as a cross plane. just a suggession!
Just code them procedurally. That's what I did and mine look great, they're like 40 polygons or so each.

There is also TreeMagik 2 for about $50 (has a demo, not sure if you'd get naything out of it though), or Tree Magik 1 for free!
