Strided Vertices...

Hi guys... I am converting an OLD BSP Engine using DX7 to a better format.... I have to deal with many data for vertices then, hard to do uniform data buffers as some data have to be processed by SW... So I am wondering about DX7 Strided Vertices... Is this vertex format directly an HW processable format, or just the DX collect and compose the vertices by SW, to pass then the list to be processed by HW ( so, finally, degrading performances )...? Is strided in DX7 similar to Streams in DX9 ( as a principle )...? tnx for any info/advice... [R]ed [Edited by - Alex Red on June 29, 2005 2:36:23 PM]
