glutExtensionSupported

i use
glTexParameteri( GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_COMPARE_MODE_ARB, GL_COMPARE_R_TO_TEXTURE_ARB ) for shadow mapping.
but i feel it dose not compare in my program.
how do i check it?

in fact ,in my program i throw off the next codes,the effect dose not change.so i throw doubt upon,i think the codes didn't work.

glTexParameteri( GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_DEPTH_TEXTURE_MODE_ARB,GL_LUMINANCE);
glTexParameteri( GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_COMPARE_MODE_ARB, GL_COMPARE_R_TO_TEXTURE_ARB );
glTexParameteri( GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_COMPARE_FUNC_ARB, GL_LEQUAL );

goto the nvidia developer website and download a showmapping example from there (theres bound to be a couple)
see if it works, if so, try to incorperate that code into your app (ie see where they differe)
