I'm new to development on OS X. I was wondering if anyone has used the APPLE_pixel_buffer extension, how it differs from the WGL implementation and if there are any pages with an example use. I've been searching for a bit now and the information seems sparse. Really I just want to know how to get pbuffers in OS X. I could glean a lot of information from a code segment ... Thanks!

Your best bet would be to check out the posted sample code, for some complete working examples. You should also subscribe to the mac-opengl mailing list at lists.apple.com.

Some Carbon code is here, it should be fairly easy to port to the CoreGraphics GL interface, if you are using Cocoa.

The CoreGraphics documention for setting up contexts, including pbuffers, is here:

The apple extensions are optimized for apple. Not to mention you don't have to go through hoops to use the extenions! You don't have to the get the procedures address and use it yourself. rather than it being available to you off the bat as a regular function.
