looking for tutorial on blender x file animation
I found the article on using blender to make game models, modeling
a sword with blender. However, it's not animated and I am interested
in finding a tutorial that deals with animated x files. Can someone
point me in the right direction?
I do believe that the .blend -> .x export retains much of the information that pertains to the animation of a mesh. The latest direct3d version can handle skeletons which is a plus.
If you really want a good tutorial about the blender animation, the best place to search is the web based manual accessable by the blender help menu. I can't tell you how many times I use this manual to to what I do. That manual effectively got myself jumpstarted on 3d moddeling in general (yes, that includes animation). I urge you to look there first. Tell me how helpful the manual was later ok?
I try my best to help people w/ their difficulty with blender because I'm a blenderhead myself. Keep on blending!

I ordered the 800- page blender manual - the book.
Should get it by the time I get back from vacation
which will be in a few weeks. I'll tell you how
it's going when I start to use it.

i'm trying to figure out animation in blender, the manual really helped, but when i load my object in DXMeshViewer there doesn't seem to be an animation available. worked fine within blender.. are there some missing steps in the manual's animation section to make it completely compatible with .x? even tried adding it as an animation and got the error "no animation in file." it also seems to remove my textures (in the .x file) after adding armatures.
