I was wondering how you would play music files other than midi''s or waves, for example an .xm or .s3m file. I''ve tried looking things up on it, but I didn''t find anything that was useful. Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you don''t mind the mild translation you need to do, somewhere at VB Explorer there is a link to where you can download a MOD (And XM, S3M, etc...) DLL that handles it all.

However, you must also consider that this does not work beside any other sound file system except General MIDI. WAVS, DirectSound, all other systems I''ve tried do not work with this without "cutting out" the music as long as the sound is playing.

I hope it helps, anyways...

The site you''re looking for is right here:

http://www.un4seen.com/music/

Here you can download a library called BASS, which supports playback of just about any music format you could want. It also supports Environmental Audio Extensions (EAX), which is totally bad-ass for people with SBLive! cards (like me).

Oh, and you can also use BASS with VB6 if you want.
