Hi, I want to load modeled scenes/levels from maja and would like to know what you think, how to do this and what export format I should use. Of cause I would prefer a map format that has already a existing maja exporter. For better rendering performance I use a scene graph (loose quadtree) and it would be nice if the loaded scene would be organized also in clusters which could easily be added to the scene graph. So basically thats it, only geometry and materials and maybe some kind of space partitioning. If I forget about the space partitioning I guess I should use the obj format. But is it possible to assign a shader in maya and the shader is saved in the materials of the obj file (only the name of the shader of cause :)? Thanks, Constantin

I don't know much about 3d mesh formats but maybe .x might work for your needs? There is a .x exporter for maya as well, although animations don't seem to export.

Best of luck.
