Managed DirectX Problem

I've just started learning Managed DirectX 9 for C# 2005 Beta 2 and I'm working through a tutorial which says that the Manager class has an Adapters property but it doesn't show up. Manager D3DRoot; PresentParameters d3dPP = new PresentParameters(); // This is the line I want to implement but can't d3dPP.BackBufferFormat = D3DRoot.Adapters(0).CurrentDisplayMode.Format; The adapters isn't even in the list. Why is that?

Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.Manager

is a static property

use:

Manager D3DRoot;
PresentParameters d3dPP = new PresentParameters();

// This is the line I want to implement but can't
d3dPP.BackBufferFormat = Manager.Adapters[ 0 ].CurrentDisplayMode.Format;
