D3D Skin Meshing and LODing

Has anyone tried mixing D3DX skin mesh system with the progressive meshes? Im about to and I will like to know if you are interested or will like to help me on this task. Thanks in advance. =)

I think I have found a way but is bit of cheating..
first you create the blended mesh, then you get the clone tje pmesh from it and then you present it.
This should be good for dealing with low gpus but what I want is to get less bone processing, I will continue working.
