I re-enabled them after finding out how, which I believe was over a week ago now, and I havn't been bothered by them at all really, although I have noticed them around. I've only hovered over a few to see what they were offering, and not actually clicked any, but from the few I've hovered over the content targetting seems reasonable if not perfect.

I'm happy for them to stay if it will support the site, but I'm not sure that they'll be particularly effective.

Oh, and while I'm here, I havn't noticed any slow-downs or problems caused by them, although they do seem to load slightly after the rest of the page content when I have a few tabs open in Firefox.

Just thought I'd give some feedback. [smile]

My biggest gripe is that the browser commonly hangs waiting for a response from the intellitxt domain. Blocking it speeds up page loading and saves bandwidth on both sides of the pipe. As far as I'm concerned, given that I'm one that has never and will never click on them, I'm doing both parties a favor by blocking them.

For some reason I'm seeing them now when I'm logged in and I'm a GDNet+ dude. Wassup? Also I have noticed that this site does run quite a bit slower using Firefox with the keywords.

Actually I'm just seeing one or two. I see one in the journal index.

..edit...now I'm seeing them on the front page as well.

I can't find the direct reference but that nuke-the-cookies thing Dave posted solved my problems... Maybe you need to do that?

well it's been a month

i didn't read all 6 pages, but now that it's been a month since the first "sighting" by me, are they staying? the month trial should be over now. just curious.
Your first sighting wasn't the beginning of the month-long trial, which is why they disappeared within a few minutes.

But, they're probably staying. The results so far have been good.

I'm getting them now (in the PM section mainly). I've cleared cookies, logged out then in again, but they're still there (they appeared over the course of the weekend). Any pointers?

The intellitext ads are unfiltered as far as I know. Though I'm not certain this falls under the category of targeted ads or not. Dave's at Siggraph, so we'll have to wait for the verdict on that one. I get the GDNet+ benefits too and I see those ads as well.
