how to MultiTexture in DirectX ??

Hi guys, I know there is a multiple texture function in directx,but I am not sure whether should I use it for bitmap animation.I was thinking to map multiple bitmaps textures and circle it through like an animation. 1)Could I circle through the bitmap to load like an animation(like gif frames) with delay?I circle through the texture bitmaps successfully but it was too fast.How can I slow down the circle through the bitmaps slowly? 2)Is there another way to do it?Coz I am not really sure about it. Thanx in advance.I hope to hear from you guys soon. TIA, Commy2005
