CoInitializeEX is defined in objbase.h. However, my compiler keeps telling me that CoInitializeEx is an undefined identifier. The funny thing is, the matching function, CoUnInitialize does not cause an undefined identifier error. I have another project that uses CoInitializeEx with no problems. Anyone have any hints?

Yes, CoInitializeEx() is for DCOM or later OS''. It is used to initialize the apartment model that the thread will live in. So if you were using it from a Console app, the correct #define''s werent'' there.
