The problem is, im wrote a simple SDL program to printout several random squares, the code works on my desktop, and a buddies laptop, but on my laptop,a toshiba w/ radeon 9000 mobile, it comes up with just the window, but displays no squares. It does not freeze or anything, just no display besides the window (640 x 480) that comes up. compiler: Dev c++ 4.9.9.2 w/ mingw32 linker info: -lmingw32 -lSDLmain -lSDL any help would be appreciated... thanks

Check to see if you have the correct SDL runtime and the latest graphics drivers installed. In your code, check the results of all of your initialization functions. It's possible that you are using a color mode not supported by your card.

If you're not doing so already, check every SDL function call you're making and see if it returns anything (many of them do). For instance, SDL_Init() returns an int (0 on success, -1 on error). If the return code is an error call SDL_GetError() to get a string describing the error.

This might help solve the problem, if not you might need to show us some of your code.
