Is there a way to overload the inspection/update operator of a pointer (*)?

A quick Google on MSDN sent me to this MSDN page (2nd link) which I followed to unary operators, finally to find out that the member function form for the pointer dereference operator looks like:

ret-type operator *()

That what you're looking for?
