OGL bitmap fonts

I'm going back to something I was making a little while ago, an OpenGL GUI system. (To all those who are about to hit reply and use the words "re-inventing the wheel" in their post, don't do it. Learning exercise.) So, I have the window drawing nicely and a box for the caption to fit in. ... Time Passes ... Okay, I just figured out the problem and fixed it. The problem was, I was calling glRasterPos between the calls to glBegin() and glEnd(). This post has stopped being about my problem, and if a mod sees fit to delete this, go ahead, but now that my problem is no more, I just wanted to say to everyone programming in OpenGL that have problems: Pay attention to the OpenGL Reference Manual!
