splitting models in MAX

hi friends How can I split a big model (like a terrain) into several smaller parts in 3d MAX (I use version 3), is there any way? I want to make smaller sections in a way that there seems no seam between the parts (after texturing). Thanks www.galaxyroad.com

use polygon sub-object level to select the polys you want in your section and then click "detach" and choose "detach as element".
this will allow you to break the model into smaller sections.

slice plane is only used to add faces to the geometry.

Aye! slice plane is too messy. Detach is very handy.
