problem with Max 7 and exporting .X files with .FX shaders

I use 3ds Max 7 SP1 to export my models into .x but there is no information about the .fx files I was using. Is there any way to get the .fx materials into the .x? I know for a fact that Maya can do this... I'de be suprised if 3ds max couldn't. thx, V.

Using Panda instead of the one provided by the DX SDK fixed the problem.
I am unsure but panda is for max6, it does work with max7 but doesnt support many features.
