glPointSize no effect?

hi everyone, really strange here; glPointSize(15) has no effect at all... it remains size 1 glEnable(GL_POINT_SMOOTH); glBegin(GL.GL_POINTS); glColor3f(1.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f); glPointSize(15); glVertex3f(.0f,.0f,.0f); glEnd(); anyone who has encountered this situation?

i just tried it out....

glPointSize() should be placed outside the Begin() End() block, or no effect

but WHY? any mechanism that can be well said? thx

SOME THINGS CANT BE DONE BETWEEN BEGIN..END changing point size i guess is one (check the spec for list of commands u cant do)
