Reading IndexBuffer from mesh file

hey ppl, is that the way to read the index buffer from the mesh file: short[] m_MeshIndices = new short[m_Mesh.NumberFaces * 3]; GraphicsStream gs = m_Mesh.LockIndexBuffer(LockFlags.ReadOnly); for (int i = 0; i < m_Mesh.NumberFaces * 3; i++) { m_MeshIndices = (short)gs.Read(typeof(short)); } m_Mesh.UnlockIndexBuffer(); but when i do this, i get alot of 0 values in the array. almost between each cell i get a 0 value.

If you're using a 32-bit index buffer, then reading shorts would probably give you a 0 every other element. Try reading ints instead.

in the intersection of the mesh i get a FaceIndex. that face index is out of range from the indices that i loaded manually above.

why is that?
