Point Sprite Textures (RESOLVED)

Has anyone managed to texture D3D Point Sprites with a HLSL Pixel Shader function. The problem is the lack of texture Co-Ords since a point is processed as a single vertex by the vertex shader. However, we did try and get tex-coords using 0->1 in screenspace. The problem was then trying to get the exact co-ords for the sprite using the backbuffer dimensions and the point sprite size. It would have worked if you could access VPos register in HLSL, but this doesnt seem to work. Any Ideas?
