..Ok I picked up this book about C a couple of weeks ago, and I beleive that I am failry knowledgeable of the beginers stuff. I mean I know that i am not a guru, but i do comprehend what the codes mean when I read them in the book. It would be easy for me to make a program that calculates average or other basic simple stuff like that. Now i am looking for the next step, i mean that book was great but now i need more stuff. I want to know if there is a place that can give me challehges while teaching me. like giving me assignments and stuff. also i am looking for another book to read the one I had was "absolute guide to C" by perry. that was good but dated i beleive so anything more modern. My main goal is to get into game programming, but i want to have some more expertise in a language first. Thank you

Then do it. That's the next step. Trust me, it's not as trivial as it sounds.

But yes, I agree, you might as well jump to C++. Not much point in learning straight C these days.
