starting a space sim

I'm looking to start a space sim and I need an engine. I'll be doing some searching but input is welcomed. I plan to use OpenGL along with GLSL. Thanks in advance for any help!

just starting to develop a space based game myself but not a sim, you might be interested in glElite:

its a reworking of the classic game with an engine called teddy, im not sure of the state of development of the engine and game but i know there not finished. Its somewhere to start looking though.

If your planing on doing your own engine there's some really good articles in the articles section in game programming on designing a game engine using SDL and a great set of articles on precedural generation of universes with dynamic level of detail planets, so you could give that a look ;)

Thanks Preacher, I'll check that engine out. I've done some engine work in the past but I'm guess I'm at that stage where I just want to get a game simple out and play with shaders.
