I have installed Visual C++ 2005 Express Beta 2 on my computer. I am trying to compile a win app. When I build the project I recive this error: "fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'windows.h': No such file or directory" I followed step by step all the instructions found here: http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/express/visualc/usingpsdk/default.aspx but it still won`t compile. Edit: I have just noticed there is a similar threat under mine. Still it does not answer my problem. [Edited by - Calin on July 29, 2005 12:26:00 PM]

To write Win32 applications in the new Visual Studio, rather than .NET applications, you need the platform SDK. It is available from Microsoft's website IIRC.

I have it. I mentioned in my post that I followed all the instructions found on MSDN page.

You have to add the platform SDK directories to the list of directories for includes, libraries, binaries etc.

Tools -> Options -> Projects and Solutions -> VC++ Directories

Edit: Just read that you followed all the instructions, sorry.
