Motion blur as a possible dissertation topic

Hi guys, i'm currently doing a MSc in Computer Games Technology at the University of Abertay in Dundee, UK. With the theoretical/practical semesters being over with now what's needed to be done is a dissertation related to games programming. I'm interested in doing motion blur as my dissertation topic. Having done some research on the net, motion blur is not that easily achieved and most of the articles have OpenGL as the API used for programming. I will most definitely be using DirectX since this has also be taught and used during the course. I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on what area in motion blurring (related to videogames) would be suitable for a dissertation. Any insight, advice and links would be very helpful. Thanks in advance, - jsy.
