I am trying to install the apache server so i can write php at home but ijt just refuses to work. it gives me 2 errors in dos at the end of the installation, something about him not find apache2 files, and after that it wont connect. it only connects if I install both apache version 2.0.x and 1.3.33 on the computer, only then it connects. I just wanted to know what is the problem and if anyone here can help me out. thanks.

Which OS are you running?
Did Apache work on its own first, before trying to add PHP? (You can stop Apache from running if PHP fails somehow).
I've only used Apache 2, but normally installing that works fine - it's configuring PHP that tends to screw it up and stop the service from restarting.
...and what do you mean by "connects"? Starts the service?
